Last year went something like this...
"What is Jade going to be for Halloween this year?"
Us: "Nothing, Kaz and I are not big into Halloween."
"Oh, really? Huh..."
"Is she going trick or treating?"
Again, Us: "No, she's one and can't have it anyway. "
"Oh, really? Huh..."
I am happy to report to all of those who thought us crazy for not taking our one year old last year to some Halloween festivities that we did this year. She's two...she still can't have the candy, but she can and wants to go to a party.
We went to a party Kaz's boss was hosting on Friday night. Very family friendly since practically everyone in the band has multiple children. Jade dressed up as a butterfly princess reusing her flower girl dress. I sewed little butterflies on it and made her a butterfly wand. She had a great time and enjoyed running around with the other kids, rolling around in the grass (in her pretty dress), and playing with the glow sticks they were all given as party favors. Did I mention that the weather was great?! Short sleeves and no jackets all through the evening!
Here are a few pics to mark the occasion:

Dad: Why can't she have any candy?
Mom: Now, Papaw...
Dad: Don't Papaw me, give her some candy!
