We asked her several times what she wanted to be for Halloween and every time we heard the same answer..."Cinderella". Jade doesn't even know who Cinderella is but I suspected she just wanted to wear the pretty dress. So...I asked..."Jade, do you want to wear a pretty dress?" An emphatic yes was the response.
Well, it just so happened that a few years ago, Kaz's Auntie Jola sent us home from England with a polish dancing dress. All of his aunts have danced in the past. I showed Jade this dress and she was in love with it. The top part of it is velvet and felt oh so nice to her. She barely fit into though, but could still breathe so we went with it.
We started off by doing our pumpkin carving. Jade was not thrilled to get her hands all gooey but was more than willing to scoop the inside with a spoon. Then we went to our local market where they let the kids go around to each department and get a little goody followed by a small magic show. For the afternoon/evening we enjoyed the company of my parents. Jade had the best time. She loved that grandpa and grandma were taking her trick-or-treating and spent over and hour walking to houses. To top the night off, she got some free candy from a fire truck that was driving the neighborhoods.
