Getting bigger...

Our girl is getting bigger and so much more mature these days. Here are a few things I've been noticing recently.

1. WALKING EVERYWHERE! Okay, so she's figured out the walking thing and is going places. Where? She doesn't care as long as she is walking there. It took her a few days to learn how to stand up on her own and walk but she's been walking for almost a month now. The good thing is that now she doesn't demand a finger to hold on to to get where she's going.

2. Oh, the VOCABULARY. To date she has a pretty large repertoire. "Button", "Up", "More", "NayNay (Delaney)", "Stop (Charlie)", "Bathtime", "Doggie", "Cat", "Mama", "Dada", "Grandma", "Papaw", "Ball", "Uh,oh", "Ahhh" - I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

3. She's almost out of her 12 mo. sized clothing and on to the 12-18mo/18mo sizes. She also upgraded to a new she size. And, the infant car seat is a thing of the past. She now has her new big girl seat that should last her until she's 60lbs.

4. Something she did that really surprised me. We have a photo frame on the floor that was given to Kaz when he left the Air Force that has several photos of him in it. One day while Kaz was at work I kept hearing her say "Dada, dada, dada". I said dada was at work. But when I turned around, she had the frame in her lap and her finger pointing at Kaz's picture. It was one of those moments that makes you feel so glad to see those times when you've underestimated your child's ability to understand something.

She loves her food but unfortunately, dairy does not love her. We've had to skip the dairy and continue on with the soy milk and our pediatrician suggests keeping her on it another year. The good news is that we are formula free. That in itself is an expense.

We are loving watching her grow up. The time does go by fast but so far, I feel like we've been able to soak up the days with her.

Ohh, and here's what it looks like when you get too close to the whole-house fan.
